Maryam’s therapeutic counseling style is: goal oriented and positive. Maryam utilizes approaches such as: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Problem Solving, Family Systems Theory, Strength Based Treatment, and is Solution Driven. In addition to speaking English, she’s Fluent in Farsi and conversational Spanish. Maryam is mindful of different cultural needs when it comes to counseling understanding that it is hard to engage in supportive services outside of one’s community. |
Her History |
Maryam has been providing therapeutic services since 2005. Prior to opening a private practice, Maryam opened and was the Director of the Adolescent Dual diagnosis outpatient clinic, helping teens who were struggling with significant mental health and substance abuse issues. During this time Maryam ran an IOP at an "alternative recovery high school " where she developed and implemented the curriculum running groups herself along with a team of talented clinicians. Maryam collaborates with her clients’ adjunctive treatment professionals to coordinate treatment when appropriate. Maryam holds a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling, and is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. In addition, she is licensed since 2009 as a school adjustment counselor/ school social worker through the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. |
